My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Koda was brought in by his previous owner on August 11, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Koda! This well-mannered gentleman is a pro at basic obedience and crate training, making him the ideal companion for anyone who appreciates a dog with a bit of polish. He's also a big fan of regular spa days to keep his coat looking fabulous. Koda does require a dental procedure to extract a fractured canine, so his adopters should be prepared to follow-up with their private veterinarian. Koda also has a sensitive stomach which means he's a bit of a foodie connoisseur-no table scraps for this pup! He'll need a specific diet to keep his tummy happy. If you're ready to commit to the care and grooming of an active, charming dog, Koda might just be the one for you! Don't forget that leash and collar-this stylish guy is ready to strut his stuff!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
