My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Tika arrived:
Tika was brought in by their previous owner.

Why Tika might be the one for you:
Tika is a charming and affectionate girl who's ready to find her new family! Tika thrives in a one-dog environment where she can bask in the undivided attention of her human friends. Tika is house trained, easy to leash and walk and is an overall good dog. She is a high energy, playful girl who loves tag and fetch. She loves her toys and sometimes zooms around with one or more of them in her mouth! Once she tires she'll look for a nice place to nap, preferably with her head in your lap. Tika's vibrant personality is hard to beat and she eagerly greets everyone with a wagging tail and warm snuggles. If you're looking for a loyal, people-loving companion who will fill your life with joy, fun and affection, bring a leash and collar to our San Diego campus and meet Tika today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
