My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was a street dog in South LA without a collar or microchip, but a kind lady has been taking care of me, so I'm now healthy and happy! I'm vaccinated, parasite free and microchipped. I love playing with other dogs, so if you need a playmate for your dog that’s me. I also love kids, especially little girls, and I'm okay with cats. A backyard to run around in would be awesome, especially with a kiddie pool to play in. I'm potty-trained, I know how to use a doggie door, and I'm not destructive, but I do like to snoop. I'm still learning my manners. I can be talkative at times to get my way. I’m great on a leash and enjoy walks. I’m learning basic tricks: to heel around the person, make a circle, sit, and lay on command for my treat. I enjoy meeting new dogs to play with and love meeting people and giving kisses and receiving tummy rubs. You can take me anywhere because I am well-mannered when people meet me! I’m an old soul in a puppy’s body, and I’m very sweet, loving and happy! Whoever adopts me will be extremely happy they did, once we get to know one another.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are carefully screened through our adoption process:

- If you're interested in an animal, we'll ask that you fill out a questionnaire, which we will review to ensure you and the dog you are interested in adopting are a good match.

- You will be asked to submit to a "home safety check" to determine the level of safety and adequacy of the area for the dog.

- An adoption fee is required and you must sign the adoption agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the dog, he/she to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only.

- Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.

- Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion will be tax-deductible. The donation goes to pay for all of the other animals in our care, many of which come to us with injuries or medical conditions that require treatment. Forte Animal Rescue survives solely on donations and it is for this reason that the adoption fee is nonnegotiable.

- Forte Animal Rescue reserves the right to cancel the adoption process at any time if the home situation or adoptive family has been misrepresented, if certain information was withheld, or if the dog is determined to be a better match with another family.
