This young lady will do best in a home with adults or older children (12+years). She is just settling into the shelter environment. When she came to our shelter, she was a little timid and fearful initially. Once adopted her new family will need to spend time with her to allow her to settle into her new life. If small animals or cats live in her home, adopters will need to manage and supervise their interactions. She will need daily leash walks and a fenced backyard. She will also require a basic manners class or private training class with her adoption.

Adoptable pets are now available through Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS)

Effective March 1, 2021 AARCS began a pilot to manage pet adoption services for The City of Calgary. The goal is to reduce the time adoptable pets spend sheltered, for the overall welfare of the animals. AARCS has an extensive fostering network, which increases the opportunity for animals to be cared for in homes, instead of shelters, while they wait for their new family.
