Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet this sweet, sweet hound and shepherd mix who is about 1.5 years old. When Duffy first went to live with his current human, he was uncomfortable around people, didn’t socialize with other dogs, and basically just wanted to be left alone. You could see the sadness and detachment in his eyes. Flash forward about 4 months, and holy cow! He’s goofy, happy go lucky, and gets excited when he sees his peeps come up! He is good with other dogs, and likes being around them as well. He’ll play sometimes with them, and other times he just likes to chill out with his pup buds. He’s still a little awkward with affection, but he’s learning and just loves being with his people and continues to come more and more out of his shell.
He gets nervous when it’s time to get into the car. And when the ride ends at the vet, he remains nervous as he really doesn’t like being there and it makes him anxious that he’s not in his “normal space”. But when the car ends up at the park, he quickly realizes that it’s all good, and perks right back up to go for his walk. He’s really good on a leash and loves interacting with other dogs that he meets along the way.
He's still working on his potty manners, and keeps getting better every day. It’s just when he’s left alone that he may “mark territory” inside the house, but only sometimes. His new family would just need to keep working with him, and be sure he’s getting outside for his potty breaks as he gets settled into his new home.
This sweet boy has so much to offer, and so much love to share. It’s been buried inside, but it’s coming out more every day. He is starting to thrive, and is looking for his forever family who wants to keep him moving forward, flourishing, so he can be the best, best boy that he already is.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
