Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Cheer, a grey beauty with stunning gold eyes who, just like her name, will light up your life. Whether she's greeting you with excitement at the door or shadowing you around the house with her happy little presence, Cheer will never fail to brighten your day.
Cheer’s playtime is pure entertainment! She’s not shy about bringing her wand toy right to you, letting you know it’s time to get moving. But her favorite activity? Parading around with her beloved ball—complete with a jingly bell—like she’s won the championship of kitty sports. She holds it high, practically daring you to join in, and if you’re lucky, she’ll invite you into a game of fetch! Watching her pride in carrying that ball around is sure to bring a grin to your face.
When the energy winds down, Cheer knows how to settle into the best snuggle sessions. She’s a pro at lounging on laps, cuddling up close, and turning any moment into nap time. And, as a part-time "biscuit baker," she’ll gently knead her way into your heart, making everything feel extra warm and cozy.
Cheer is great with other cats and would be a wonderful sister to your current feline. Her loving nature and cheerful presence are always uplifting. If you’re searching for a kitty companion who brings happiness, laughter, and plenty of cuddles, Cheer is the one for you! Cheer was born 12/4/2022.
If you live in Chicago and are interested in learning more about Cheer, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com. Please tell us a bit about your situation, what you are looking for, the composition of your current household (the other humans and/or pets who already live there). Inquires with these questions answered are responded to promptly.
We are always in need of foster homes. If you are not able to adopt, but are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com to learn more. Photos by Brenda Stewart

Additional adoption info
The process for adopting a cat involves a couple of steps.
Step 1 Gather information
We gather information about the potential adopter's situation, what they are looking for, their current household and pets, etc.
Step 2 Cat “Interviews”
Next, we have the potential adopter meet the available kitties, by putting them directly in touch with the appropriate foster parent(s) to coordinate a day and time for a visit.
Step 3 Adoption application
Once the potential adopter has met the kitties, if they decide they want to do an adoption, they fill out our adoption application, which we then process. It takes a couple of days to process the application. Once the application has been processed and approved, the kitties are ready to go home.
Step 4 After the adoption
Once a person has adopted a cat, Feline Friends Chicago continues to stay in touch with the adopter to ensure a smooth transition for both the person and the cat. We remain available for questions and advice.
All of our kitties have been combo-tested for FIV/Feline Leukemia, spayed or neutered, vaccinated for distemper, microchipped, and dewormed. The adoption fee helps to offset the costs we incur to do all of these things.
Please keep in mind, we are a very small volunteer group and not set up to do out of state or long distance adoptions. If you live out of the Chicago area, we encourage you to look at your local shelters where there are wonderful animals waiting for homes.
