Tuck is a large, 2 1/2 year-old mixed breed who has been at the shelter for over 440 days now. :( He is playful, happy, very smart, VERY sweet/affectionate, and is both dog & human friendly. He is just as sweet as can be once he settles down from the initial excitement. Tuck would love an adopter who is willing to work with him on his manners, such as jumping up on people and pulling on the leash. He needs someone who is willing to accept the fact that he is not perfect right now, but with a little bit of time and training, he could easily turn into the best dog you could have ever asked for. He is hoping & praying someone out there will give him that chance very soon. Its hard to understand why such a gorgeous face and amazing personality has been overlooked for over a year now :( . Please help him find his special someone ASAP.... 440 days is way too long to be sitting in a shelter. If you are interested in adoption, you can fill out an adoption application on our website. Our shelter behavioralist can also talk to you/show you different training techniques you can use to correct his jumping up tendencies and how to get him to stop pulling on a leash. She can also send his new adopter home with several training tips tailored specifically to Tuck's individual needs. After adoption, you will be provided with the behavioralist's phone number incase you may need training/ behavior advice in the future. She is available for you to reach out to her anytime. :) If you are interested in getting Tuck out of the shelter and making him a part of your family, please visit him during our open hours, or go ahead and fill out an adoption application on our website, www.carthagehumanesociety.org. Once we've gone over your application, we will call you to schedule a day and time for you to come and meet him to see if he might be the one for you! :)
