Meet Hank, a 1 year old mixed breed stray bursting with charm and curiosity. Friendly, adaptable, and tolerant of handling, he's an ideal companion for any family. Despite some challenges, he's been soft and sociable with staff, eagerly allowing handling and leaning into pets. As a young and enthusiastic dog full of energy, he's ready for an active lifestyle with his forever family. However, due to his energetic nature, he's not recommended for children under 5. With a clean bill of health and a heart full of love, Hank is ready to embark on new adventures with his forever family!
My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: In the middle of a hike, Hank paused to admire a butterfly delicately dancing by. Momentarily distracted from his sniffing, he watched the butterfly with open hearted wonder, which I know is exactly how I look at him. Hank likes to carry sticks that are three times bigger than he is and loves to sploot himself out to watch ants build their hills. He splashes through his kiddy pool and walks along the edge of the sidewalk holding his head at just the right angle so that his face can brush every stick and blade of grass. He gets tired and flops over into my lap to ask for belly rubs. What I'm trying to say is that Hank is here to learn and, at just a year, he's doing a fantastic job. Although Hank has spent far too much of his precious puppyhood at the shelter, he's obtaining his skills through play, patience, and love. Coming out of his kennel full of hope, he greeted us with joyful purpose. Together we planned a busy day where we could run through the soccer fields and hike through the trails, stopping to watch every butterfly along the way. Hank is trying so hard to learn everything he can, like his leash manners and commands, and just needs a bit of help as he does. He's young and wants only to add to your home with all the love, joy, and hope he has to offer.
