For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Caramel is a little over a year and a half. We got her about 3 months ago from a family who raised her from a puppy. She currently lives with my husband and I, and our 2 young kids. She does great with our 5 year old daughter. I feel that our two year old son makes her nervous. We also have two cats. The older kitty is scared of the dog and runs away from her. The kitten is less scared of the dog and sometimes sleeps near her. Caramel seems to herd the kitten around.
This dog has been sweet to us, but it has been a lot of work having her. She is a livestock working dog and sometimes she is calm and sleeps during the day. And often times she would love to be running around outside. We only have a small yard. This dog is friendly to people she meets but also cautious of strangers when outside. She does bark loudly for a heads up.
I think that she would thrive with a family that did not have very young kids and had more yard space, and patience to work with her.
Comes with crate.
