My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for the perfect cat companion? A cat that loves people? Murphy is your guy! This adorable boy is three years old and loves to be around his foster family and is always by their side. Settling into his new home with ease, he likes to talk and tell you all about his adventures. He has the best temperament and is always calm. Never one to pass up a cuddle session, he will allow you to pick him up and cuddle him for as long as he wants to. Murphy loves to be pet and thoroughly enjoys his face and neck scratched. Occasionally, he’ll venture into your lap, but might not stay for too long. He’s got places to go and people to see! Hopefully, your house has a big, bright window because he loves catching rays and watching the world go by. Murphy is super playful and will spend hours chasing balls, tearing paper, jumping into boxes or chasing the mouse on a stick! He is an expert climber too and loves his big cat tree. Murphy enjoys having dinner dates with his family, and enjoying their company while he eats. Speaking of food, Murphy has a sensitive tummy that requires him to eat only duck food, which is available from most pet stores. You don’t have to worry about him being a picky eater! He is also currently on medication for his tummy issues, but it’s unknown how long he requires it at this point. Murphy doesn’t like to share his people with other cats, so he MUST be the only cat in the home.

Murphy was a stray cat living in a busy area. He had people who cared for and fed him regularly, but unfortunately, they couldn’t let him in their house because he didn’t get along with their house cat. Sadly, he went missing for several weeks and returned badly injured. Murphy’s injury to his leg required surgery. He has recovered beautifully and can walk, run, play and jump like any other cat.

Murphy is a very friendly boy in search of a loving home where he can be the only pet. He'll be the perfect dinner companion for you and any guests.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
