My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ ABI✨
🐶 Age 4 years
🌍 Location: Incline Village NV
😎 Breed: lab/bull terrier mix (we are guessing!) possibly some Dalmation
💙 Female
💾 MIcrochip
📏 Size: Medium
⚖️ Weight: 38 lbs

💃Energy: She is calm, but very playful she is the perfect company for a person with activity.
She walks marvelous on the leash
🐶Dog Friends: Yes, she is completely dog and cat friendly, a very happy and loving dog. However, we have discovered that she is jealous of other dogs in the home and growls at them. She gets along with my dogs but they have learned how to manager her. She was adopted by a family with two other dogs and she dominated them, so they retreated. She was ultimately returned so she is for adoption again. She might do better in a home without other dogs. She is so very sweet and she lived with multiple dogs in Cancun so we just aren't sure.
👧🏽 Children Friends: Yes – it’s a definitely yes. She likes to jump for kisses .
⛓Leash etiquette: yes
🥘 Resource
She wants to be all time with dogs around. She is always communicating.
Happily shares toys and food.
She is very obedient when spoken to and understands you are communicating because she sees you right into your eyes .

📣 Bark/noisy: No she barely barks; but she says if she wants something very excited to be with some Other dogs

🏡 Housebroken: Yes
⛓ Leash etiquette: Yes
🚙 Good in car: Yes, calm in the car

TEMPERAMENT
ABI is an incredibly loving female. She follows the rules, House trained, but she lives outside in a yard.

She is really adorable, one you can have beside you all the time.

📚RESCUE STORY
Rescued from a lady with 2 other dogs, chained and with severe skin condition.
And skinny to the bones. We began the process with Doxi, Simaprica and liver to eat. Now she is in perfect health condition, weights a lot and is ready for her family.

Note from foster: If you saw her video, she was in terrible conditions, along with several other dogs. She was chained around her belly and has a deep scar. Yet she is happy and loving and joyful. I am honored to foster this noble girl. She will make an absolutely wonderful and loyal best friend.
She would probably do best in a home without other dogs. She does OK with cats and with most dogs but she seems to get possessive of her humans and doesn't want to share her family with other dogs. She is super sweet to people and she will play with other dogs.

Their adoption process

1.

Interview

We vet all people fully by phone.

2.

Submit Application

We require the application and a video of the home, yard, places the dog will be.

3.

Meet the Pet

We meet with the people at my home (typically). See how the pet responds to them.

4.

Home Check

Rather than do home checks, we have you take a video of your home and yard.

5.

Take the Pet Home

We REQUIRE frequent updates, photos and videos. We create a WhatsApp group, making it easy to share with our staff in Lake Tahoe and Cancun.

Additional adoption info

We require feedback after the adoption. We always want to know the dog is in the BEST place. If it doesn't work out, we require the dog come back to us.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We meet by appointment only. We bring four dogs at a time and find homes as quickly as we can. We typically meet in Incline Village but sometimes we might meet somewhere else (half way or at the adopters home, for example).

More about this rescue

LOS PERROS PERDIDOS Foundation partners with our sister rescue in Mexico, PAWS IN ACTION CANCUN.

We are determined to save as many broken, abused, abandoned and neglected street and shelter dogs in Mexico as we can.

Motivated by a deep love of our 4-legged friends, our mandate is to save and improve as many lives as possible.

We have seen many tragedies and have witnessed the most horrible cruelties, but we know that by working together we can make a significant difference.

Raising awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering our furry friends and through the love and support of our wonderful volunteers, supporters and adopters, our hope is to rescue, heal and successfully rehome as many of these deserving souls as possible.

With your help, we can do this!
