My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Halia was brought in by her previous owner on August 15, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Halia! Halia is a sweet, shy dog who needs a calm and patient home to help her come out of her shell. She came into our care with her friend, Makana 913689, and they would love to find a home together. In her previous home, she was potty trained and had excellent house manners, making her a perfect companion for someone looking for a gentle and low-key addition to their household. With time and care, Halia will learn to trust and show her true, loving nature. She would do best in a calm environment where she can feel safe and secure. Think Halia might be the one for you? Then come meet Halia today and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
