My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Moxie is a pretty little black bunny who is so sweet looking that you will want to pick her up and cuddle her. But wait, rabbits are social and affectionate but not so fond of being picked up. They like to interact with their humans by being petted, given bunny treats and quietly playing together. As Moxie twitches her cute little nose and makes quiet little pleasure sounds you will know she is happy and glad you brought her home. Being sociable, two bunnies usually work well together as they play, eat and sleep together. They are great for working folks because they are naturally crepuscular which means they are most active in the morning and evening. They are particular about their hygiene and will keep themselves clean and expect you to keep their enclosure clean. Think you are ready to add one or two twitchy noses to your household? Come and meet Moxie. She may be the one and she has friends.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
