My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you're interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

This big, handsome lug has had a life full of adventures and now ready to settle down. King seems to love everyone he meets big and small. He does well with other polite, social dogs but not a fan of the feline sort. Adopters must have previous BIG dog experience and a securely fenced yard. King weighs in at 110 pounds.

King recently went on a Wandering Rover outing and got an A+! "King is such a big boy but so full of love! He's an amazing dog and would do so well with someone that will take him on so many adventures! He loves people and absolutely LOVES stuffed animals! He's very treat motivated and already knows basic commands so training him further would be so easy! He also seemed to absolutely love the water at the beach!"

Another Rover said "King is a dream, don't let his size fool you. He's sweet, knows sit/down/shake and did stay for a few treats. He only pulls on the leash when leaving the shelter or if I'm told, if he sees water. Otherwise, he's amazing to walk. Great in the car. This guy settled right in to our small townhouse. He didn't utter a single bark, alerted us when he needed to go out. This big love bug needs a foster or home ASAP and some loving people to make his own. You won't regret adopting King."

ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.

How does this work?

First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.

Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.

Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.

Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.

Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.

CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $200
