Reese, 5 months old, on 5/29/24, is a chocolate and tan, male chihuahua looking for his perfect forever home. His owner died and no one in the family wanted him. A good Samaritan stepped in and took him so that he would not have to go to the shelter. We were contacted and fortunately had a foster home for him. This social little guy loves everything and everybody. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and being kept on heartworm and flea & tick prevention to maintain his good health. He weighed 11 pounds on 8/15/2024. He is very smart and is learning how to walk on a leash. He seems to do ok riding in the car but does not like having to ride in a crate during the ride. He’d much prefer to sit with his person. Reese is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $250 with an additional $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Reese, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application.
You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process.

After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.
His adoption donation is $250. He would not do well living in an apartment setting as he can be vocal if he’s not happy. Please Note: All applications are processed in the order received, but an adoption is made to the best application received for each of our animals. All applicants must provide a vet reference on the adoption application. If you are adopting a dog from ARFA, a fenced in yard for the dog will be required. Home visits often occur with each adoption. ARFA has the right to deny adoption to any applicant for any reason without explanation. Please remember that the adoption donation is not for purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of all dogs in our care.
