Our family adopted Harriet from the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha in September of 2023. We were excited to bring her home and she fit in so well with our family. Unfortunately we are moving and she cannot come with us, this breaks our hearts.
Harriet’s age was unknown when we adopted her, the NHS guessed around 5 years, so she would be almost 6 years old now. She has had some training through Meraki Dog Training and knows commands “sit”, “down” (we use down in place of lay) and “place” well. She knows the command “leave it”, but really needs some reinforcement when using it. She uses a slow feeding bowl, as she likes to inhale her food. She will sit and wait for her food, until given the “ok” command to eat. She is great with kids, although can mouth had hands if kids are too rambunctious. We use a prong collar for training and walking, which she does well with. She is kennel trained and does well sleeping through the night in one. I could go on, but we can discuss more later.
