My name is Ernest* HW(-) (Foster: Kelton)!

He might wish this were just a movie sequel titled "Ernest Goes to the Shelter," but sadly, it's his reality. Meet Ernest, a senior male American Pit Bull Terrier, 13 years old and weighing around 45 pounds. He was brought to the shelter as a stray on August 15, 2024, in a dire state-emaciated, barely able to walk, with wounds on his neck and behind his ear, and a tumor on his side that has since been successfully removed. Thankfully, Ernest has received the care he needed, is well on his way to recovery, and is currently in foster care until he has been placed with his forever family. Despite his challenging past, this sweet boy is gentle, fully housebroken, calm, and well-behaved. He's also smart and knows several commands, and he also seems to get along well with cats. Ernest primarily enjoys lounging and snuggling, making him the ideal senior companion for anyone looking for a loving new best friend.
