Edison is 3-4 yo old classic Black and Tan male shepherd weighing approximately 70 lbs. Although we do not have a storybook of his past, he has become a solid canine companion with his social demeanor and spontaneous Happy-Wags.

Edi has shared his home with multiple large canines, appearing to gravitate to the ones with a playful spirit. He can be somewhat pushy with his playstyle, so supervision is recommended while he is in the company of new dogs, especially those smaller in size. He enjoys bursts of ‘energetic chase’ but settles well and will choose to lay quietly for intermittent breaks. Consistent with his gentle nature, he has extremely good tolerance to pesty dogs who ask for more. He ignores most dogs on a walk, but he can become aroused to those who strut their stuff his way. Continued guidance and redirection will help him to remain focused and calm in these situations.

This boy seems to do well meeting all humans with a gentle curious approach. He is eager to join you on walks and car adventures where he is learning to wait patiently in the vehicle for your return. Edison currently does well alone or in the company of another dog while his foster mom is away during long workdays. In the home setting, he demonstrates excellent house manners, choosing to lay quietly by your side or in an open crate. This guy melts into quiet moments of affection with his person, and he has learned belly rubs are a wonderful thing! He is an early-to-bed, early-to-rise kinda guy who will crate himself at bedtime where he will slumber all night.
