Hi, I'm Sumo, a 5-year-old shepherd mix with a big heart and a soft soul. My journey to the shelter started after my owner passed away, so I'm still adjusting to all the changes. I might whine a little when I'm around other dogs, but don't worry-it's not because I don't like them. I actually would love a friend! I'm just figuring out this new chapter of my life, and sometimes I feel a little unsure. But with the right companion by my side, I know I'll settle in just fine.
When it comes to walks, I've got it down! I start off with a little extra excitement (I mean, who doesn't love being out of the shelter?), but I quickly mellow out and walk calmly by your side. I'm not one to pull too hard, and once I'm in the groove, I'm all about exploring my surroundings. I love to sniff and check things out-there's just so much to see! I even know how to sit, especially when there are treats involved. Treats are my jam!
I met several dogs during my walk and, to be honest, I wasn't that interested in them. I'm more of an explorer than a social butterfly, but I'm always polite and never chase or act aggressive. Now, ducks on the other hand-those I can't resist! But don't worry, I'm just being playful, not fearful. Overall, I'm a sweet, calm boy who's just waiting for someone to give me the love and stability I crave. If you're looking for a gentle companion who's happy to explore the world at your side, I could be the one for you. Let's take this journey together!
