Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Raina came into rescue with her 4 siblings, Riplee, Wonka, Snoops and Sissy. We are currently working on getting all of the pups vetted and ready to go. We were told that the pups are klee kai and bulldog mix. According to their former owner, they should mature to a larger small to medium sized dog. The pups were raised well and are very social. They are friendly and playful and are typical puppies. Personality wise, they should fit well into any home/family environment. Because they are puppies, they will do well with cats, kids and other dogs with proper introductions. Growing up with and socializing them to whatever kids and critters are in your home is important to ensure that you have no issues down the road. These pups are a perfect age to bring into any home and do just that.
Since the pups are still quite young, they will need to be trained and learn proper puppy etiquette so that they will grow up to be well rounded and well behaved dogs. Please be prepared to provide your new baby with this training. They will also need to learn the leash if you plan to leash walk. They have never been on one. They are basically blank slates and will become the dogs they are to be with your help and influence. Raina saw the vet on 8/14/24. She weighed 15.4 pounds as of 8/14/24. She has been spayed and started on her puppy vaccinations. She is too young for a heartworm test still but we started her on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea control. She was found to have no issues on her vet exam but she did test positive for hookworm on her fecal. We have dewormed with Drontal but a follow up fecal is recommended and a follow up dewormer may be needed. Raina has been delayed in getting ready to go due to breaking her leg after she got it hung up in some fencing. This happened in early July but vet was optimistic that it would heal on its own with conservative methods and pain management given that Raina was young and still growing. The initial recheck a week later was worrisome, showing little change so we were facing the possibility of an amputation if there was no significant change at her next recheck in 2 weeks. We waited 3 weeks before rechecking and finally, on 8/7/24, Raina was nearly healed and vet said she would not require amputation after all so she is ready to find her forever home now and is using her leg as if nothing happened. We just wanted to give a full background on Raina and her health so any adopter is able to make an informed decision about giving her a home. If interested in giving Raina her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Raina's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Raina based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you

More about this rescue
We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 1,000 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on www.petfinder.com. We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!
