My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog Day Out Report
Today I: had a lot of fun at the park! My new friend brought me to a place with lots of doggy friends, and I wanted to play with all of them. Along our walk, we saw birds, squirrels, walkers, bikers, and runners. I was thrilled whenever we ran into them and got a little jumpy with excitement. Besides all those amazing scents, I showed my friend that I know how to ‘sit’ and took treats gently. I’m ready for more adventures!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Playful- Adventurous - Sociable

Notes from My Walker: Shelly is a young, excited pup! She was a little jumpy and didn’t hesitate to give me lots of kisses when I approached her with her harness. We took a small break in the parking lot so she could calm down a bit before heading out to Jeffrey Fontana Park. When I led her to my car, she hesitated at first, but eventually put her front paws on the backseat and jumped right in. She was curious about everything, moving around and even trying to get to the front seat for a better view.

Shelly pulled on the leash due to her excitement, but she still checked in frequently, often circling back to her human companion when she noticed they had fallen behind. She’s such a good girl! She would pull strongly on the leash toward any distractions with movement or sounds, like runners, dogs, squirrels, or chirping birds. Especially with dogs of any size, she tried to engage them in play with play bows and friendly body language.

As we moved to a quieter neighborhood, she began pulling less and focused more on sniffing, even when we encountered similar distractions. Overall, Shelly would make a great addition to a family that’s patient and willing to work with her on managing her excitement. She would be your best lifetime buddy!`
