My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Memphis is a big, goofy, happy boy who is SO HAPPY in a home.

How is this for the greatest description of a dog ever: "he's a polite cuddle bug whose love languages are physical touch, words of affirmation, and blueberries"? Who doesn't want THIS guy in their life?

He is a good boy who will sit for a treat and can be entertained for a good while with a nice chew bone. He's potty trained, walks well on leash, and enjoys to romp with dogs around his size.

Memphis was rescued after he landed in a shelter in a small Texas town, emaciated and near death. After a veterinary evaluation, it was learned that Memphis had a ticke-borne illness, which was slowly killing him. Thankfully, once he got the medications and care he needed he made a FULL recovery! He’s now happy and healthy!

Memphis loves his walks and he’d love a home that enjoys taking a dog on hikes and other fun adventures. He is a nature watcher/lover as well! He thinks the sounds and views outside are wonderful to sit and absorb (but be careful with little critters as he does love chasing squirrels etc).

We believe Memphis may be part Doggo Argentino which means he is one of our few leggy dogs that will have zero problems navigating a home with stairs. He's a bigger boy excited to get to be a 'kid,' so no little kiddos he can knock over accidentally, and no small dogs or kitty cats, please.
Those little ones are just too tempting to play with!

Additional adoption info

Austin Bulldog Rescue is 100% foster-based, and does not have a shelter or facility where applicants can come meet dogs before applying. Meet and greets with a potential match will happen after an adoption application is approved. ABR is a matching rescue -- while our teams take dog preference into account, we ultimately match families to the dog best suited for their home and lifestyle. The more thoroughly you answer the interview questions, the better the matching experience on all sides!
