My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bagheera is a neutered adult black male cat, born at the end of August 2023. He is black all over aside from the tiniest tuft of white on his chest. He has been neutered and is fully litter box trained. Bagheera is a very affectionate cat and will walk directly in front of you to make sure he gets his pets. He's a goofy and energetic boy but is shy at first. Baggy's best friend is Milton, his brother. Milton and Bagheera spend all of their time playing and napping with one another as they are a bonded pair and would do best together. If your family is looking to add two sweet, loving fuzzy boys, please consider Bagheera and Milton. The adoption fee is $25. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to:

We are located in Western North Carolina, but we serve areas as far north as New Hampshire with our weekly transport. The adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR or FVL-CP, Rabies, Flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment before transport. All of our pets receive a health certification prior to transport. The transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery.

We are located in Western North Carolina. All of our pets are housed with foster parents. You may visit our pets in North Carolina, but call ahead so that we can make them available to you.

Rutherford County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Rutherford County since 1979, with the mission to significantly improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals, and to measurably decrease this number through our spay and neuter programs, volunteer foster homes, and outreach and education. We are an independent organization that works in collaboration with other area animal advocacy groups. All of our efforts depend on our passionately compassionate volunteers, and financial support from the community.
