Meet beautiful and sweet Roxie! This senior gal is SO deserving of a home to call her own in her "golden years". She is considered "special needs" in that her mobility is affected by arthritis and spinal stenosis. Essentially, she needs help sometimes getting up with the use of a sling but is able to walk on her own (though not far distances). She is currebtly
on Gabapentin and will be for the duration of her life. She is housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She is extremely loving and wonderful with other dogs and all people including children! This sweet gal was originally found lying in the middle of the street as a stray in San Antonio. She had to belong to someone because she is so socially adjusted and friendly with all people and other dogs. Our belief is that she was most likely abandoned due to her arthritic condition. She was then taken to a very high kill shelter in San Antonio, and only given a few days before her euthanasia date was set. A wonderful volunteer, who fell in love with her personality, reached out and asked Red Fern if we would be willing to take her into the rescue. She is currently being fostered in San Antonio and we are very hopeful for her to come to Colorado as soon as serious interest is expressed. Could you be that special someone that could give her the home she's always deserved?
