My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Frecks was brought in by his previous owner on July 31, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Frecks! Frecks is a shy boy with a heart of gold, looking for a calm, quiet home where patience and care are plentiful. While he may take some time to warm up - especially with men - once he feels safe, you'll discover just how sweet he truly is. Frecks has done well with other similarly sized dogs and may enjoy their company in his new home. He would thrive best in an adult-only household where he can have the space he needs to feel secure. Be sure to bring the whole household along to meet this gentle soul! If you're ready to offer the time and love Frecks needs to come out of his shell, he'll become your most loyal companion. Don't forget to bring a leash and collar when you come to meet him!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
