My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoom, our resident snuggle bug!

Zoom is big boy who may not be the speediest cat around – he prefers cuddles and tummy rubs from his friends! He may take some time to warm up in a new home, but once he settles in and gets to know you, he enjoys pets, chin scratches and laying in your lap. Zoom loves to chase after wand toys and play games of hide-and-seek. When it’s time to rest, he’ll get cozy in his favorite cat bed and take a catnap.

Zoom is a sensitive guy, so his ideal home would be quiet and without too many loud noises. He also plays a bit rough and would benefit from an understanding adopter who can show him how to play appropriately. With a little patience and guidance, Zoom will soon be spicing up your life!

  • Zoom would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who can help him come out of his shell.
  • Zoom would probably do best in a home with no other cats.
  • An Admissions and Placement Specialist will be able to provide you with information about helping Zoom lose weight and become his healthiest self.

If you are looking for a sweet kitty to curl up next to you on the couch, click on the “Adopt Me” button and fill out an application for Zoom here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/3589d28e-212f-4bd6-b0d8-fe925707744a

*The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.*

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet.

Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**

More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
