My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franny has a history of being left behind😿. Originally she was left at a local cat colony. She made her way to our shelter and got adopted. Fast forward, a year later, her family surrendered her when they were moving and Franny was not part of the move plans.

This gal does require to be your only pet🐾. She is a very independent kitty, she just wants to be and have a perch to get some sunshine and watch the birds.

If you have a place for sweet Franny to start her life over then please stop in!!
We are open every day from 12-4:30 PM!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
