My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is a 4-year-old gal looking for a life partner. She is such a wonderful lady who loves to be right by your side 😍 If you're looking for a walking/hiking partner, look no further, Penny is for you! Sometimes she is a little shy around new people but once properly introduced, she warms up quickly 💖

Penny is housebroken and knows commands and will be an easy transition into a home for someone looking for a companion🐾 She does want to be your only pet and would be best in an adult home. This sweet girl has been waiting 2 YEARS for a home. Please don't let her wait any longer....

We are open daily from 12-4:30 for adoptions, fostering, donations, and visits. Please email or call us at 732.922.0100 or tintonfallsahs@ahsppz.org.

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
