My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'd like to introduce our most recent foster dog, Nancy is 5-years old and is medium in size. She has a great set of ears and the most infectious ear-to-ear smile.
Nancy is a perfect house dog. She has had no accidents and does not need to be crated. She knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and we're working on roll over. Most of the time this just turns into "rub my belly and I dare you to stop."
She enjoys romping around with other dogs, and adjusted well to Buster's disinterest in her shenanigans. Nancy has been great with our kids ages 11-months up to 11-years. She's very gentle and good at matching their energy level. She has the cutest way of settling down where she audibly flops to the ground and criss-crosses her back legs. The only time she barks is when the doorbell rings. She does want to be a part of the No Kitty Committee so I would suggest a home without a feline foe.
If you're looking for a loyal family dog that enjoys snuggling with you and your kids, already knows basic commands, is house-trained, and precious to boot, Nancy is a complete package.
Help us help her find a forever home!

More about this shelter

Our mission is to promote humane principles, protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for animals in our communities.

Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is the only open- admission shelter in Butler County, Ohio. In 2009, AFHS relocated from its outdated facility in Trenton and now occupies a 22,500 sq. foot facility with top-notch amenities for its shelter population in Hamilton, Ohio. By adopting nationally recognized best practices for animal shelters, AFHS has been successful in increasing its overall save rate and hit a record high of 94% in 2020. Assisting over 5,000 pets each year, AFHS is committed to providing individual care to local pets in need. As Butler County’s largest and oldest 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter, AFHS is always in need of community support to continue its lifesaving mission.
