SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Maisie is a lovely girl who recently came to us from our favorite WV shelter partner. Her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. She has a gentle soul and sweet spirit and is a joy to be around. Maisie came into rescue with Penny, and both love other small dogs. Maisie is spayed and microchipped, fully vaccinated, and has tested negative for heart worms. We are seeking a home for Maisie with an adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with her. She will make a wonderful companion to most anyone. A home with a fenced, secure yard, without small children and larger pets is required.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle both matches the needs of Maisie and meets our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet her at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
