My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Glen is such a resilient and energetic young cat! A month or so ago he had both eyes enucleated, so he's fully blind. Despite this, Glen has recovered super well and still enjoys playing and running around. He loves to play with anything he can hear, even balled up grocery bags. He also loves to climb and would definitely love having a cat tree. Even though he's blind, he knows his way around the apartment really well and he's able to find everyone's rooms and his food and litter. Glen would definitely take some time to get adjusted to a new home but I'm confident it wouldn't take him long. He's really smart and has even been learning the tricks "sit and "come. I'm not sure if he actually knows the commands or not but I think he's catching on! Glen does good on his own and when we find him at home after being alone he's usually just lounging somewhere. Once Glen is tired out, he'll relax enough to snuggle in bed or on the couch with you. Glen is such a handsome boy and so entertaining to have around. I'm excited for Glen to find his forever home!

Additional adoption info

Adoption applicants must complete a screening form as the first step towards adopting a pet. Your application will be verified by staff who will explain the next step in your adoption process. All adoption criteria must be met before the adoption is approved. Once approved, you are under no obligation to complete the adoption if you change your mind.

Pets are placed in the best possible home if there is more than one application pending. We cannot place a hold, or accept a deposit, on a pet. Adopters may legally only adopt 2 pets within a 30 day period.

We can, and do, adopt to out-of-area homes given the applicant has physically interacted with the pet. We will not ship a pet.

How to Find a Good Match:
We have trained staff who can give you information on positive training, breed characteristics, temperament, activity level, and behavior. Please ask for assistance at the front desk, we’re more than happy to help you find a good match! More about this shelter

As an open admission animal shelter, we accept any pet who comes through our doors regardless of breed, temperament, color, size, health, age, adoptability, or their previous owner’s or finder’s ability to pay for the duration of their stay with us. We do not require an appointment, surrender fee, nor a pre-surrender behavioral assessment. While not every pet we receive is healthy or temperamentally sound, we work with foster homes, limited admission “no kill” rescues, breed-specific rescues, and knowledgeable volunteers and adopters to ensure that as many pets as possible find a home. See our website rhspca.org for more information about us, and to see our list of available pets that is updated in real-time.
