**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet
Trooper is an energetic guy who would love to belong to a family that will include him in all their plans. Whether it`s going for a ride in the car or relaxing on the couch this guy wants to be right beside you. Trooper is a pretty independent fella who isn`t looking for a canine companion. He is very happy just being with his people while he waits for the next big adventure to begin. Because we do not know if he has any cat experience we are asking for a feline free home.
Trooper is very smart and doesn`t mind showing off the tricks that he has learned along the way. He is eager to please and will be a very loyal friend. Trooper has good leash manners and knows how to be a gentleman in the home. Because of the quick and unpredictable nature of young children we are asking for a home without children under 12 years of age.
Trooper received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork on 07/29/2024. He also received a dental with an orthopedic exam on 08/06/2024. It was found that his rear right leg has a partial/full cranial cruciate ligament tear. The recommendation is joint supplements and anti-inflammatory drugs since this is an old tear. Adopter should monitor this, with a veterinarian, at Trooper`s yearly exams. Trooper would benefit from low impact exercise along with acupuncture, laser therapy and hydrotherapy. Trooper is 9 years old and weighs 58 pounds.
*Trooper is on daily medication for arthritis in both knees and we recommend low-impact exercise (swimming, on grass), keep body weight lean.

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
How does this work?
First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.
Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.
Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.
Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.
Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.
CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $200
SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS
- Adoption fees vary based on species
