My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you're interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

Trooper is young at heart and always ready for adventure! He has gone on a several Wandering Rover outings and this is what they shared "He was really excited to see the beach and wanted to swim. He was very well behaved and let everyone pet him. He also wanted to play with evey dog that passed by." "Trooper was so loving and energetic. He enjoyed our walk in Millcreek trail. He tugged on the leash for the first half but mellowed out on the way back... He wanted to say hi to the humans that passed by and was such a sweet boy!"
Another Wandering Rover said "Went to get coffee and a pup cup, explored the backyard and played games, went for a walk in the morning around the park, then once more in the afternoon around the block
He got a little upset when he saw other dogs, it was the only time he barked
Trooper was a great listener and very calm in the car, he knew how to sit and lay down. As an older guy he did get tuckered out about midway through the day but got some energy back after we took a break to lay in the shade for a while. Overall a great companion for a relaxing day out!"

*Trooper is on daily medication for arthritis in both knees and we recommend low-impact exercise (swimming, on grass), keep body weight lean.

ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.

How does this work?

First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.

Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.

Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.

Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.

Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.

CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $200

DOGS
