My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tatum!

This gorgeous girl is incredibly sweet and loving. While she can be a little shy on first introductions she warms up quickly and loves being near her people. Tatum is newer to us so we are still getting to know her, so far we have learned that she is dog selective, preferring dogs who give her her space as she gets to know them. She is still learning how to walk on a leash but has already made a lot of progress. We believe Tatum would do best in a home that will go at her pace and help her gain some confidence.

Tatum can be see at the main ranch location. For more information, please email dogswmr@gmail.com

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
