My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT ALFIE: This boy is a gem, BUT, he is a SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION. He has health problems and will need to be on medication for life. Please do not inquire about adopting ALFIE before reading this entire description.

ORIGIN: ALFIE was an owner surrender at a local shelter. He was already neutered, but in bad shape, physically. Not only was he heavily matted, but he had breathing problems. We rushed him to our vet.

HEALTH: Our vet did x-rays and blood tests. The x-rays revealed a collapsed trachea and enlarged heart. ALFIE gets meds twice a day and has responded well. In case you are wondering the cost of his meds. To keep Alfie happy and healthy, the meds are currently running $3.00 per day.

We will require that his adopter continue these meds. He also was, in need of a dental cleaning, but our veterinarian advised against anesthesia because of his collapsed trachea and enlarged heart. We were able to get this done without anesthesia, but you will be required to monitor this.

ALFIE's PERSONALITY: WOW, this boy is a gem. He is very focused on his people and eager to please. Loving and a cuddle-bug. He is a treasure to the person who will vow to tend to his medical needs.

RORESCUE NOTES: We are looking for an "forever" adopter who will give ALFIE a safe loving home and keep them "forever"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FYI, there is NO public funding that helps Rescue Groups with veterinary expenses. We use our own vets and we pay them thru adoption fees and donations. Lately, veterinary fees have escalated, making it harder and harder to offer affordable adoption fees, but we try. Please be considerate when deciding to adopt a "Rescue dog".
ALL RORESCUE DOGS are vet checked, spayed/neutered, dental cleaning (if needed), microchipped and UTD on shots.
NOT DONE: Full blood panel/Valley Fever/Tick Fever/Heartworm testing is NOT customarily done, unless veterinary suggested
RoRescue adopts their dogs as INDOOR pets, with sufficient supervised outdoor exercise time.
RoRescue requires a secure yard and safe environment for this dog.
We do NOT adopt to out-of area or out of state locations.
