Meet Posey, a beautiful 2-year-old pitbull mix who has already stolen our hearts. When she first arrived at Sky Sanctuary Rescue, she was so emaciated and frail that we could hardly believe she was an adult dog. The person who claimed to have found her was an unreliable narrator, and the truth of her past remains a mystery. What we do know is that Posey’s spirit remained unbroken, despite everything she endured.

Posey’s sweet nature is nothing short of remarkable. She’s the kind of dog who looks at you with those soulful eyes, full of gratitude and love, even though life hasn’t been kind to her. Since coming into our care, Posey has slowly started to gain weight and strength. Every day, she gets a little stronger, a little more confident, and it’s been an honor to watch her begin to blossom.

Now, Posey is in a 4-week board and train program, where she’s not just learning commands but building the confidence she’s never had the chance to develop. We’re already so proud of the progress she’s made, and we know the best is yet to come.

Posey is looking for a home where she can finally feel safe and loved, a place where she can continue to grow into the wonderful dog she’s always been.
