Sadie is a very curious and outgoing puppy who is almost identical to her sister in looks and personality. She is highly social and loves to be held and petted. She loves everyone in the family equally and visitors nearly as much. She is still puppy-clumsy and can be quite hilarious. She enjoys taking naps in between playing hard. At times she is slightly more mellow than her sister. Play with the ball and squeaky toys are great fun, especially if she can get her people involved, and she loves to play in the doggie pool. Chewing on her sister is pretty great, too! She plays well with dogs of all ages.
Being an active, young puppy, she needs lots of playtime in between food and naps and will either need a fenced yard to play in or to be taken places to spend her energy in age-appropriate ways.
We don’t know how Sadie is with kids though probably enthusiastic and playful and not particularly gentle or well-mannered; she is a baby herself after all.
Due to her age she still needs to learn not to jump up and what not to chew on. Sadie is working on potty training but does well in kennel for extended periods. She wants to go for walks on leash but is still at that phase where she gets tangled up in your feet and the leash. She loves to ride in the car.
So far she responds well when called and will come running, especially for pets or treats, but of course it has to continue to be practiced and reinforced as she grows more independent. She would, however, love to escape with the Amazon driver or mailman if given the chance; sociability trumps loyalty with this girl and that is not a bad thing.
Sadie only really barks when playing with other dogs, or she needs food, or it is potty time.
Any food is fair game to this girl; absolutely no manners yet in this regard. She eats as fast as possible and slow feeders are recommended for her health and safety. And of course feeding her separately from other pets so she feels okay taking her time.
Sadie is approx. 3 months old as of mid-August.
Breed-wise we are thinking Labrador retriever mix with some kind of bird dog or hound and/or who knows what.
She weighs approx. 17 pounds at 3 months of age.

Since we are a foster based rescue and don’t have a shelter all meet and greets must be scheduled and walk-ins are not an option. We will travel throughout the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas/states if that means the dog will find their forever home! When we host adoption/community events we will always post them on our Facebook Page Northern Star Dog Rescue.

More about this rescue
We are Northern Star Dog Rescue, a completely foster based non profit dog rescue! We specifically pull all of our dogs from the euthanasia list (most are there due to no fault of their own) and dogs that are homeless or in bad housing conditions. We take them in and place them in foster homes until we can find them their forever homes! We do what we do because our team has a STRONG love for animals especially those that are in dire situations.
