My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

A volunteer writes: A dog's name can say a lot about them, but in Hulk's case he doesn't live up to it. Sure, on first glance, he might seem like a burly, strong guy, but he resembles the soft-spoken scientist version more than the green monster. And each time I get to spend a moment with him, I get to witness his gentle nature, his calm demeanor and the sweet boy that's the antithesis of his name. Around here we always say that 8 is perfect age. You get the best combination of up for some exploration if that's the kind of thing you're into, or loafing on the couch all day, or a little bit of both. He's perfected his leash manners (he walks with a "loose, but confident frame," doesn't seem fazed by passing dogs and he even knows some cues.
Hulk has been social throughout his stay in the shelter. He was confident but tolerant when meeting a female dog. Due to some stress that he displayed when he originally arrived, he is recommended to an experienced home with no small children. Hulk was found by the police- tied up and abandoned, a story we hear far too often, these days. But we are hoping he has a different ending, one in as gentle and patient home as he is. Ask to meet him today!

Animal Care Centers of NYC encourages everyone to come to one of our three full service Care Centers when looking to adopt a pet. Beautiful dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits are anxiously waiting a home to call their own.

All ACC adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance, and a free office visit at a participating veterinarian.
