My name is Nick!

Animal Profile: Nick is an estimated 1-year-old 65 lb neutered male German Shepherd mix who was taken into the high-kill Downey Animal Shelter in Los Angeles as a stray with a severe laceration on his back leg, and never claimed. The shelter treated his wound, and assessed him to be friendly with people and other dogs, and comfortable with handling. Unfortunately he was euth listed for space after a long stay over one month in the shelter. This resilient boy got a one-way ticket to Seattle with a foster offer and will be joining Dog Gone Seattle on July 28. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. 

Foster Update: Nick is a really sweet, smart boy. He loves to put his head in my lap for pets and head snuggles but does not try to jump up on the couch or bed. He really likes to be around people and is a bit of a velcro dog so crate training and time alone are a work in progress, but he is improving quickly with this. He walks well on leash and even lets me wipe his paws before coming back in the house without any issues. Nick would love an active family who is around most days and can give him the love and attention he deserves.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV, heartworm test if 6 months or older, microchip with lifetime registration, and health certificate. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.

Animal History: Nick was picked up as a stray in southern California and taken to the high-kill Downey animal shelter where he was placed on the euthanasia list for space. With foster commitment he was tagged and will be transported to Seattle arriving 7/28/24. He will be available for adoption to the greater Seattle area after evaluated in foster care.
