My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Diamond was brought in by his previous owner on August 13, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Diamond! Diamond may be small, but he has a big heart and even bigger cheeks for storing all his favorite treats! He's a pretty social little guy who should warm up well to his new family! Hamsters, like Diamond, need a minimum of 650 square inches of space to call home! They love to dig burrows, forage for treats, and run on their wheel. Because of this they will need a minimum of six inches of bedding. Hamsters should always have access to a high quality rodent chow and be provided with fresh veggies/fruit daily. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a small furry friend like Diamond, bring a secure carrier to our Airport Road location today!.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
