Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The Bucket Brothers, Buck, the ginger male, and Kit, the tabby, came to our rescue on July 23, 2024. They were found alone outside of a research laboratory in Lancaster, SC, and taken to Faulkner Animal Hospital. They were literally in a bucket, which is how they got their names.
When they came to our rescue, their eyes were still closed, but their umbilical cords were no longer attached, making them close to a week old. We are calling their birthday July 18, 2024. Fortunately for us, they were great bottle feeders from the start and gained strength and weight quickly. After spending their first two weeks in an incubator, they were developed enough to regulate their body temperature (without a mom) and are now feisty, playful, and socializing to other kittens and to humans.
Our strong preference is that since they began their improbable rescue journey together in a bucket, they should be adopted together. They will keep each other company when you are away, and when they are not napping in your lap, they will burn off their extra energy playing with each other. They are already litter trained but still transitioning from bottle feeding to kitten food.
Buck and Kit will be old enough to leave for their forever home in early September. Our adoption fee of $150 covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic.
