My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miles is currently in a foster home and is not at MHS!! If interested in adopting an application will need to be submitted at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CBIA/Dog to set up a time to meet him.
This is what his foster mom has to say about him:

Miles is just about the goodest boy there is. His favorite activity is lying at your feet or running around the backyard with his furry friends. Miles knows sit and has quickly learned lie down. He's very smart and eager to please and will do just about anything for snacks. He goes in the kennel (especially for food) but it's not his favorite, he would rather be with you! He likes to sleep at night next to his foster mom's bed. Cats were confusing at first but now he knows cats are friends. He LOVES walks and is learning how to walk politely on the leash. It didn't take long to learn pulling didn't get you anywhere faster. Miles has a condition called pemphigus which cause him to have some crusting and tearing around his eyes but fortunately, medication helps him if there's a flare up. Miles is going to give back to his family ten fold to whoever is lucky enough to bring this boy home.

More about this shelter

The vision for Midlands Humane Society began in 2006 when a dedicated group of animal lovers wanted to do better for the homeless, stray, and unwanted pets in our community. MHS opened the doors in 2015 and have since been supporting the animals and their humans within our jurisdiction of Pottawattamie County, Iowa.

Midlands Humane Society takes great pride in helping animals get to the point where they will live their best life. Top-notch care and enrichment activities, paired with high-quality food and necessary medical care and vaccines, animals that arrive at MHS are set up for success.

With 200+ animals in our care each day, MHS is extremely appreciative of the support of our community via adoption, volunteering, donating, and spreading the word of the MHS mission.
