My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let me introduce you to the delectable Ms. Pumpkin III, aka “Pumpkin Pie”, akaka “The Chunky Punky Monkey.” She is a two-year-old, 45-pound white and brown pit bull mix, although it is rare not to see a little pink on her, thanks to her collar, adorned with beautiful flowers. She looks nothing like the skeleton my brother rescued from an unhoused man, traded for a meal and a beer. We spent six months feeding her and giving her lots of treats, and from the brink of starvation, her personality began to blossom. Pumpkin is a very energetic pup who loves to run around yards and play with her favorite toys, especially her alpaca. She loves her sister Bert, but unfortunately, due to her past trauma, she has not been able to make many new dog friends. She is either too energetic or too stressed to make proper friends, though I do truly believe that with a lot of training and effort, she can eventually be better in that area. She is picky about her dog friends and prefers to be an only child. Cats are unknown. With humans, she is the biggest snuggle bug in the world. Friends? Family? Complete strangers? It doesn’t matter to her. They are all her friends. She hasn’t been around too many children, but she has loved the ones she has been around. Pumpkin’s ideal home would have a yard and a lot of people who love her and give her lots of treats. Pumpkin is learning to walk on a leash but requires that her walking partner pay attention. She is notorious for breaking out of crates, and she knows that she isn’t supposed to go potty in the house, but when she does have accidents, she finds the best place to have them, i.e. tile floors rather than carpet. (She knows that she is supposed to go outside.) She loves to shake hands, and whenever she gets pets from anyone, she will pet them back. She’s incredibly smart and empathetic, and she’ll want to do anything you want to, whether that’s hiking, playing video games, driving in the car to grab a Pup Cup, you name it, she’s down to do it with you. This beautiful pup deserves the perfect furever home. Could it be you?
