My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dylan! He is an affectionate one-year-old Kelpie Shepherd mix who weighs 65 pounds. He adores people of all ages and gets along with all animals. Though he might chase birds, it's always in good fun. He's calm and non-reactive, even with annoying or aggressive animals, and his tail is always wagging. A true snuggle bug, Dylan can be a bit of a bed hog, always seeking closeness with his family, and he’s never shy about giving a hug and a kiss. He loves playing keep-away with other dogs and fetch with humans.

Dylan enjoys laying his head or whole body in your lap, and he surprisingly loves baths, especially the towel time afterward. On walks, he delights in sniffing around and taking in all the scents. Whether relaxing at home or at a restaurant, he’s content, and he readily goes into his crate when needed. Dylan is eager to please, especially when treats are involved, and he knows a variety of commands like "watch me," "touch," "sit," "down," "settle," "stand," "wait," "kennel," "back," "come," "kiss," and he’s currently working on "shake."

Dylan excels when focused on his handler but also shines in the presence of other dogs or an audience—he's a crowd pleaser! During the workweek, Dylan and his sister Nina stay in separate crates, with a dog walker visiting midday for a walk or play session. He thrives in a home with adults, kids, and other pets with similar energy. Dylan loves companionship and has so much love to give.

More about this rescue

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
