Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jack is a friendly, affectionate senior sweetie who lived the last six years in one home. Jack is extremely people oriented and reportedly did great with young children and trusted family members. Once he knows you`re his person, he’s a loyal companion! Unfortunately, Jack was kept primarily outdoors; he’s let us know that the outdoorsy life is not for him- backyards can be boring, especially for dogs who LOVE PEOPLE! So, one main requirement for Jack’s future home is that he be welcomed indoors to be by his family’s side. Jack will need an understanding and patient adopter who is willing to help him learn the ropes as an indoor dog.
Here’s what Jack’s volunteer friends have said:
“Jack is so handsome and such a wonderful walking companion, it’s hard to understand how he hasn’t gotten adopted yet. He is easy to leash up, well-behaved, and just a friendly easygoing guy who is always happy to get out for a walk.”
“Jack is one handsome guy but he seems to be one of those dogs who gets overlooked in the kennel. I’ve always found him resting on his bed, watching folks go by without ever stopping to say hi to him. He caught my eye with his handsome appearance and low-key attitude. I decided to take this sweet boy for a jaunt through the park and immediately he captured my heart. He probably was one of the easiest walking dogs I’ve had in a long time which was very refreshing. If I had to stop for a moment, he would stop too and patiently wait. On our walk when we encountered other dogs, he would glance at them then continue on doing his own thing, which usually included sniffing. I’m not sure there is any inch in the park that he didn’t sniff. Jack is definitely a doggy that really likes human interaction. Friendly, people oriented, affectionate, and sweet. Do yourself (and Jack) a favor by meeting him!”
In playgroup at the shelter, Jack was a little nervous at first but soon became social and tolerant with other dogs. He’d like to meet any potential fur siblings before heading home and needs a home without cats. Would you consider giving this very good boy a comfortable retirement home? Ask to meet Jack today!
