My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Ollie was brought in by his previous owner on 7/28/2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ollie! This handsome young guy was quite fearful when he first came into our care. With time and support, his fearful behavior has diminished and he has formed good relationships with staff. Ollie's previous owner reports that Ollie chases cats so it's best he not live with cats. He is also reported to be good with dogs, especially small dogs, and selective with larger dogs. His prior owner says that he loves car rides! Because of Ollie's fearful nature, especially in new situations, we require that any children in the home be 10 years of age or older. If you would like to meet Ollie, please visit our Escondido campus.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
