My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Odessa, a delightful German Shepherd mix eagerly waiting for her perfect home! ?? This sweet girl recently joined us at HSEC, hoping for a second chance at a forever family. With her big ears and even bigger heart, Odessa is known for her sunny disposition and loving personality.?

At just 2 years old, Odessa is in her teen years, full of energy and enthusiasm. She's also got a calmer side that loves lounging around the house and enjoying cozy moments. Whether she's playing with her furry friends or snuggling up on the couch, Odessa brings warmth and affection wherever she goes.
House trained and ready for a fresh start, Odessa is excited to meet new human friends and share her joy. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a perfect blend of playfulness and tranquility, Odessa might be the ideal match for you.

Odessa tested positive for heartworms. HSEC gives heartworm positive dogs a course of antibiotics and steroids. They then receive monthly heartworm prevention, as any dog should. We recommend speaking to your veterinarian before adopting a heartworm-positive dog. Interested in adopting Odessa? Head over to hsecarolina.org to apply today!

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
