My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Phoenix is tough as nails! When we found him he was completely infested with fleas and ticks, emaciated, could barely walk because he was so weak, and was so tired. However that did not stop him from being the most loving sweetest boy! We got him cleaned up, gave him medicine, fed him, and loved on him. He has packed on some weight and his little personality is coming out so much! He absolutely loves to play, eat, run, give kisses, and snuggle when he's tired of being a puppy!

Go meet their pets

We would love for you to meet one of our rescue dogs! As we are a foster-based rescue, we don't have a facility. You can make an appointment with us to meet a dog in Tahlequah, OK area. Please email us at waymaker@waymakerrescue.org if interested in meeting a specific dog.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs and to facilitate needed services of food, spay/neuter, medical care, and temporary housing. We partner with local veterinarians and fosters to provide these needed services while we work to find permanent, caring homes for each dog. In addition, we create public awareness on the importance of spay/neuter, medical, and nutritional care for pets in our local community.
