Hello there! My name is Charlie Brown, and I’m not exactly sure what breed I am, but I do know that I’m a handsome pup with some pretty amazing features—especially my ears and my distinguished eyes! I am working hard on learning to trust humans and other dogs as I go on little adventures in Wisconsin. 💛 💛 I had a bit of a rough start in life; my siblings and I were found as strays down south, and we battled Parvo. Thankfully, my sister Sandy and I pulled through and thrived with our southern foster. On August 25, we made our way north, and I’ve been learning what it means to live inside a house ever since! Adjusting to all the new sights, sounds, and smells has been a little overwhelming, but I’m a brave, strong pup who’s coming out of his shell more each day. I’ve been on some cool adventures, including high school football games, trips to the lake, and walks all around Winnebago County. I’m on the smaller side, weighing about 39 pounds, and I’ve been neutered and microchipped. I’m working on my leash skills, but honestly, I’d much rather run around and toss a toy in my own yard! I’m still learning about other dogs and would need your help to build my confidence around them. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m young and eager to learn! Recently, I met a little boy who wanted to pet me. I was curious but unsure, so he patiently sat on the ground until I was ready to sniff him. His kindness made me feel brave, and soon, I let him give me some gentle pets. I think I’d do best in a home with either older kids or just adults who understand my pace. ❤️ Since I spent my first 11 months outside, I’m familiar with outdoor kennels, and I am thrilled to be living inside now. My crate is my safe space, and I’m proud to say I go in on my own and settle quietly at night—especially when my foster mom adds a Kong filled with treats! If you’re patient, loving, and willing to give me the space and time I need to learn to trust you, please fill out an application and let the team at Sandi Paws Rescue know you’d like to meet me! A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.
Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
