My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gabby and Misty, two short-haired all black female littermates needing a home together.  Pawster, a non-profit organization, takes in animals from families or individuals experiencing a temporary crisis.  Most cats are able to go back to the original owners.  Sadly, though no fault of their own, Gabby and Misty, cannot return to the original owners.  They are both 5 years old, spayed, microchipped, healthy, current on the distemper and rabies vaccines, and on heartworm prevention.  Both ladies are very sweet.  Misty is a little more shy than Gabby. Both kitties do well with other cats in the home. It is unknown how they will do with dogs, but we think they would do well with a proper introduction.  Would you be interested in taking these sweethearts home? To apply, please complete the foster application at pawsternashville.org/foster for a 1-week trial period. After 1 week of fostering you will be able to adopt for a total adoption fee of $80 for both pets. Pawster is willing to transport both cats to Knoxville, if interested.

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
